While most hotels don't yet have in-room internet availability, most have a business center or lobby area with internet access available. As with most things, access in the hotel is much more expensive than elsewhere. Most hotels seem to charge 50,000 Rupiah (3.00 USD) for one hour, more than five times what you'll pay outside the hotel. As in the rest of Bali, there are plenty of shops offering internet access. These include stand-alone shops, "Wartel" shops that offer internet access as well as long distance telephone service, and cafés where you can get food as well internet access.
Expect to pay around 1,000 Rupiah (0.06 USD) per five minute block for internet access at shops.
An increasing number of coffee shops offer free wi-fi with your cappuccino. One of the most popular places in Ubud at the moment is Tutmak, a western-styled coffee shop with good coffee, Indian chai tea, full meals, and free wi-fi.
