The entrance to the Bali Hyatt at Sanur Beach.
There's a full range of hotel accommodation available on Sanur beach, from small cottages to big hotels. There are, in fact, many small resorts with only 20 to 30 rooms along the central part of the beach. The La Taverna is a good example of the smaller resorts, with just around 25 rooms, one of which is a luxury villa with it's own pool and beach access.
At the larger end of the spectrum is the Bali Hyatt. But the Hyatt is definitely not a big impersonal hotel. In fact, the Hyatt's design defined the very concept of the "Bali style" that is known around the world. Even if you don't stay at the Hyatt, a visit there would be worth your while when staying around Sanur.
The suggestions below lists only those hotels which we've had some personal experience with, or had feedback from other travelers about. Use the search box at the bottom of the page to find the best rates for Sanur hotels using HotelsCombined, which compares prices from dozens of other sites.
Note: Visitors should be aware of the Balinese New Year (Nyepi), which occurs sometime between mid-March and late April. Nyepi is a day of silence, when restaurants are closed, taxis are off the streets, and people are supposed to remain indoors. Note especially that the airport is closed on Nyepi. There are no scheduled arrivals or departures on the day.
