I suppose that you could say that the Inna Grand was everything you'd expect from a state-run hotel. To put it a bit more clearly, while the this isn't really a bad hotel - I've stayed in far worse for sure - this isn't really a the five star property either. What makes a hotel worthy of five stars, in my opinion, is attention to detail, and it is this critical element that's missing at the Inna Grand.

Take my room for example. Nothing was actually broken, but there were many small annoyances that should have been seen to: The labels on many of the "pimple" style light switches were worn or even scratched off. The connections of the lights were somewhat illogical. The doors to the small balcony had automatic closers, making it very difficult to leave them open to let in the wonderful sea breeze. Any one of these would have been nothing more than a minor annoyance not worth mentioning, but all together they make for a less than five star experience.

Other than the guest room, the hotel itself was not in the best of state, although again I have to say that it wasn't falling apart, just lots of little things that should be better. The facilities are rather extensive, and include a nine-hole golf course.

Hotel facilities include three pools, nine-hole golf course, bowling alley, spa, several restaurants (some closed for renovations) and a rental shop for water sports equipment.

Rooms feature air conditioning, hot and cold water, mini-bars, complementary coffee and tea, color televisions (mostly local channels), hair dryer and IDD telephones. There is not internet access in rooms. Rooms in the tower have small balconies.

Pluses: Right on a good stretch of Sanur beach. Reasonable security. Extensive facilities.

Minuses: Poorly maintained. Bland design not well maintained. No fitness center.
