The Kuala Lumpur Convention Center area, usually just shortened to KLCC, is dominated by that symbol of modern Malaysia, the Petronas Twin Towers. The towers sit on top of a large complex which includes the massive Suria KLCC shopping center and a philharmonic concert hall. The shopping mall includes a couple of department stores, several name-brand boutiques and a lot of restaurants for all budgets. The complex partially encloses a huge park, which a lot of people seem to miss entirely. Several of the shopping mall restaurants (the more expensive ones, of course) face the park, which has a big fountain and a sort of water park for the kiddies.
Next to the Suria complex is the Convention Center itself, used for large exhibitions and conferences. Beneath the center is Aquaria, a 60,000 square foot aquarium. Aquaria is open daily from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm. Admission to Aquaria is RM 45 (9.16 USD) for adults, RM 35 for children.
The area is also home to several hotels, including the ultra-luxe Mandarin Oriental and the incredibly good value Impiana KLCC.
