Kampot is most definitely not a shopper's paradise. There are, somewhat refreshingly, very few shops selling souvenirs or local handicrafts. Epic Arts Café sells a few things made by local people with disabilities. Down the street, the Handicraft Café is about the only real souvenir shop in town, although they seem to push massage services a lot more than the crafts.

While you may not find anything there you want to buy, a walk through the city's main market can prove quite interesting. There are almost no supermarkets or department stores in town, so the market is where most people buy just about everything they need for their home. One thing you may want to buy is the world-famous Kampot pepper, although you may want to take a local with you to make sure you get the real thing and the best quality.
