Jakarta
Indonesia's capital is home to more than 10 Million people, most of whom seem to be sitting in traffic at any given point in time. The city has long since replaced Bangkok as one of the worst places for traffic in Southeast Asia. While there are remnants of the old 17th Dutch settlement of Batavia, it's difficult to say whether or not this is worth the time and effort it takes to see it. Most tourists seem to choose to get out of Jakarta as soon as they can.

Jakarta is the main transportation hub for Java as well as all of Indonesia. As such, it is well served by airlines, ships and trains from other parts of Java.
Airlines Serving Jakarta Jakarta's huge Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (code: CKG) actually has it's good points. The departure lounges are among the most unique we've ever seen, but the rest of the airport is rather dull.
Air Asia Air Asia is Malaysia's discount domestic carrier.
In at least some respects, Jakarta's main international airport is one of the more pleasant and beautiful airports I've ever experienced. The sweeping curves of the main terminal buildings isn't that unusual, but the details are. Few visitors stop to look at them closely, but the columns supporting the roof feature colorfully detailed bases adapted from traditional Javanese designs. The really special feature of the airport is the departure lounges.
Jakarta basically has just two seasons: the "dry season" and "rainy season." Temperatures are almost exactly the same warm conditions all year round.
Historical Weather Patterns for Jakarta As noted above, there is almost no variation in high or low temperatures during the year. Average highs and lows vary by just a couple of degrees throughout the year.
Average Monthly Highs & Lows (°C) The rainy season runs from around around October to March, when the monsoons arrive from the north.
