Vientiane Weather

Vientiane shares the monsoon driven climate of its Southeast Asian neighbors, but is generally a bit cooler than the hotter countries to the south. The coolest time of year is also the driest. See below for the current conditions right now:

As in the other monsoon countries of Southeast Asia, the rainy season is not necessarily a bad time to visit. It does not rain all day long, as many might think. The rain usually comes in drenching late afternoon downpours. If you time your day accordingly, you can definitely enjoy your visit and have many sights to yourself.
