The Oasis Atjeh Hotel seems to be one of the few nice and relatively modern hotels in Banda Aceh. At the time of my stay, it appeared to offer the best value for money. The hotel seems to cater to a lot of domestic visitors, with very few international travelers in evidence. It is located some distance from the sights of the city, but so are all the other options.

My deluxe room was comfortably sized, with a good desk to work at and a serviceable bathroom (shower only). The wireless Internet was usable, although some friends also staying at the hotel complained that they couldn't access it from their room.
The hotel has a full service restaurant where breakfast is served as well as meals any times of day. The breakfast buffet is rather sparse, catering almost exclusively to local tastes. I ended up having a few other meals at the hotel, as there is nothing nearby, and the food off the menu is rather good.
Hotel facilities include a restaurant and airport shuttle.
Rooms feature air conditioning, hot and cold water, television (several channels), telephone, refrigerator, and wi-fi Internet access.
Pluses: Free airport shuttle. Free wireless Internet throughout hotel.
Minuses: Out of town, and very few nearby restaurants or shops.
