Kuala Lumpur has a wide range of accommodations available, at bargain prices relative to its neighbors. Hotels are located all over the city, with the main concentrations in the Bukit Bintang and KLCC areas, close to all the shopping and restaurants. The really cheap hotels are in the Chinatown area, with more around the Putra World Trade Center.
Here's a short list of hotels that you can book on the Internet through one or more of our hotel partners. If you don't like our selections, you can use the search box below to find the best rates for Kuala Lumpur hotels by searching dozens of sites at once.

The trick for developers creating a successful budget hotel, so I'm told, is to use good quality materials and sound construction to create a 'good enough' hotel that won't require too much maintenance and won't show its age too quickly. The builders of the Citrus Hotel seemed to have ignored these rules. In fact, they pretty much seem to have ignored the entire construction process. My room exhibited an amazing number of flaws: the windows were too big for the frame width, resulting in a big overlap between two panes, which let in lots of noise; the bathtub appeared to be incorrectly installed, flooding the bathroom each time I took a shower; and the security latch on the door appeared to have been installed by someone who had absolutely no carpentry skills whatsoever.

Room at the Grand Millennium Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia The Millennium Hotel in Kuala Lumpur has a fantastic location near the center of the Bukit Bintang shopping district. Like so many hotels in Kuala Lumpur, the Grand Millennium offers extraordinary value for money. Although rather old, the hotel certainly isn't showing its age, thanks to the constant maintenance in evidence.
Hotel facilities include a swimming pool, small fitness rooms, spa and restaurants.
