Asia for Visitors

Hotels

As the center of both business and government in Indonesia, there are many hotels to choose from in Jakarta, in a wide range of classes. Given the city's notorious traffic jams, you may want to try to get a hotel close to where you need to be. Our hotel partners specialize in Asia's most popular 2-star to 5-star hotels and resorts, and offers the guaranteed lowest rates for advance hotel room reservations.

Here's a short list of hotels that you can book on-line through one or more of our hotel partners.

Alila Jakarta Hotel
Well located boutique styled hotel near the government center with all its museums and monuments.
Grandkemang Hotel
Small hotel in the trendy Kemang area, near many popular restaurants. Read my review of the Grandkemang for more information.
The Sultan Hotel
Huge hotel in the center of town, popular with business travelers. You can read my review of The Sultan Hotel.

Jakarta Airport Area Hotels

The Sheraton Bandara is the only hotel anywhere close to the airport. The hotel is just inside of the airport zone, about five minutes drive from the terminals, regardless of traffic.

Grand Kemang Hotel

August 2009 Double room at the Grand Kemang Hotel (Hotel Image) The Grand Kemang is one of those quirky little hotels that you're either going to love, or hate. The location is either going to be perfect for you - not too far from business and handy to a score of restaurants - or it's going to seem like the middle of nowhere. The rambling layout will either be madening, or charming.

Sultan Hotel

June 2006 A Lagoon Tower room in the Sultan Hotel This hotel has supposedly been remodeled since I last stayed there, shortly after it ceased to be managed by Hilton International. The former Hilton must be one of Jakarta's premier business hotels. It is adjacent to the Convention Center, connected to it by a tunnel in fact, making the hotel the preferred place to stay if attending an event. There are also many office building in the area as well.
