Champey Inn Hotel

10 November 2007

This hotel seems to have changed hands and undergone a significant transformation. It is now know as the Le Flamboyant hotel and resort.

Champey Inn
The pool and villas at the Champey Inn

The Champey is about the best of Kep's meager offerings of accommodations. The Champey sits on the cape, just a stone's throw from the crab shack restaurants. While it is right on the ocean, there is no beach here. There is a very nice large swimming pool.

Champey Inn is designed as a collection of small villas grouped mostly around the pool. My room, which appeared typical, had a double bed with mosquito net, wardrobe, and an alcove with a desk and day-bed. The bathroom was an outdoor arrangment with shower only. The decoration could best be described as “Spartan” but was pulled off rather well.

Hotel facilities include a restaurant.

Rooms feature air conditioning, hot and cold water.

Pluses: Excellent restaurant. Very friendly staff, able to organize tours to where-ever you like.

Minuses: No beach, if that's what you're looking for.
