Singapore Meritus Mandarin Hotel

The Meritus Mandarin, flagship property of the small Singapore based Meritus group, has an excellent location on Orchard Road, very close the the very epicenter of Singapore's famed shopping paradise. For the stay described here, I had a room on one of the executive 'club' floors of the hotel. Rooms on this floor are supposed to be a bit nicer than standard rooms, and also have access to a lounge room on one of the club floors.
The hotel consists of two towers, roughly the same size and shape. The large main lobby faces Orchard Road, and the lower floors of the hotel also contain a large shopping arcade.
Our room on the 31st club floor was spacious, and had a fantastic view of Orchard Road and beyond. The king-sized bed was very comfortable, with large firm pillows, just the way I like. The large bathroom had separate tub and shower stall. The shower had multiple nozzles, which I've never seen in hotels before. Very nice.
Hotel Facilities include several food outlets, including a top floor Chinese restaurant; a large fitness center, swimming pool, tennis and squash courts. The executive club floors have a private lounge with meeting rooms, newspapers and food.
Rooms feature air conditioning, mini-bar, internet access (extra charge), color television with most major international channels, combination safe, iron and hair dryer.
Pluses: Very good location for business and shopping. Club floor rooms quite spacious, with excellent and attentive service.
Minuses: I can't think of any.

Pacific Club level rooms include welcoming fruit platters, access to the Club Lounge, butler service, a pillow menu and complimentary Internet access and local calls. Expert Tip. The 157-acre Singapore Botanic Garden offers extremely varied environments that include lakes and a stream, a waterfall, an evolution garden with replicas of prehistoric trees, orchid gardens, herbs and spices, medicinal plants, a rain forest, gazebos and grassy expanses. The garden is open from early morning to late night, and there is no admission charge.
