Bougainvillier Hotel, Phnom Penh Review

8 November 2007

The Bougainvillier hotel is a real bargain if you're looking for a nice hotel on the river. The small hotel has just a dozen or so rooms. While the basic rooms at the back are nice, the front rooms facing the quay are fantastic. The back rooms are comfortable enough, if a little small, but their main drawback is that they face another building just across the alley. The front rooms, on the other hand, are quite large, with a seating area, as well as the river view. All of the rooms appear to have been recently renovated.

Aside from the rather highly regarded restaurant of the same name, the hotel does not have much in the way of additional facilities. There was some extensive remodeling going on around the lobby while I was there, so some aspects of the hotel may have changed.

Hotel facilities include a restaurant.

Rooms feature air conditioning, hot and cold water, flat-screen color televisions with a wide range of international channels and safe.

Pluses: Excellent location, near restaurants, sights and shopping. Great restaurant.

Minuses: No pool or fitness center. Not a big drawback, but when the weather is hot, a pool would be nice.
